There is a special breed of people, akin to none, in a special geographical contraption with entirely different political ideology and practice. They are so wonderful that even the wonders of the world trip for them. In their unique ways, they beat history like no other. They excel but with different definition of excellence – excelling, maybe in the negative side of the pole, with more contradictions and controversies.

It happens in the Country of Contradictions that people gather and pay to be deceived, and the deception is served very hot on the platter of gold. Unlike motion without movement, everyone runs amok but without destination. More than business as usual, people are busy doing nothing. In a continuum of cacophony, there is endless discussion and argument without a topic – and the country runs on a reverse gear, presenting more hunger and pains every now and then that the future looks very bleak.

With unity built on division, like in every forced marriage, there is everywhere convoluted ego and bottled emotion fed with destructive dichotomy of “we against them.” Despite looking far even when the indices are within, one could define the level of distrust, rancour that is covered up for false existence. There is agitation here and there, even amongst the oppressors.

It has never been like that elsewhere that men could gather and watch their “mother” being raped – and they turned around to crown the rapist, making him a king over them. But it happened in the Country of Contradictions! Yes, everything is possible every time, everywhere by everybody, in this place that vices could easily become virtues taught and sermonized by all and sundry in every nook and cranny.

It is part of the contradictions that the professors, even though many are bogus, profess ignorance and illiteracy, kicking against “merit culture” to promoting mediocrity and producing mediocre. It is part of the contradictions that “waste bill” is preferred to “degree certificate” and it does not matter how one sees such preference and blind defence for cheap political point and patronage. It is part of the contradictions that the economy could suddenly change from a thriving giant to become a begging, hunger one that could not provide even a daily meal. It is part of the contradictions that a bankrupt firm could suddenly pay billions for “subsidy” scam even when wages and salaries have not been paid. It is part of the contradictions that while murderers are giving amnesty, harmless public speakers and opinion molders are being put into prisons. It is part of the contradictions that while majority of the populace scavenge for food, living worse than vultures, the ruling class die of gluttony and “squandermania.” It is part of the contradictions that those who failed examinations would be given admission at expense of those who passed. It is part of the contradictions that those who loot the looted funds and further liquidate the state are honoured and celebrated as statesmen while those who sacrificed their lives for the unity of the country are made felons …

In the Country of Contradictions, politics is played with bitterness and voodooism; the economy is run like a thievery empire by the cabal; and leaders are but selfish-wicked rulers that would stop at nothing to destroy others just to celebrate themselves!

To understand the mechanics of this state, one might end up being more confused than convinced as why things happen the way they do. From every indication, every successive government becomes more sophisticated in arts of contradictions than the predecessor, excelling on the negatives with more divisive, destructive tendencies.
